PAST/BIO: As seen on Heroes and "Fives Years Gone" canon, Nathan Petrelli was elected to Congress in 2006 and shortly thereafter allowed his younger brother Peter to explode, taking out most of New York City. Nathan, who had been celebrating in Martha's Vineyard at the time, publicly blamed the explosion on Sylar (who he claimed died during the unfortunate incident) and exposed the metahuman population's abilities. The popular Congressman publicly supported the Linderman Act and was eventually elected President of the United States. Unfortunately, not all was as it seemed. At some unknown date, Sylar murdered Nathan Petrelli, stealing his ability and his identity through the power of illusion, thus secretly usurping the position of President of the United States.
The real Nathan Petrelli was brought back to life, however, by conjurer Dr. William Yates and his wife's memories in January of 2013, at which point he took back the presidency. Not long thereafter, however, he was abducted and held captive by powerful metahuman group Quinque and was only rescued some time in June 2013 during a battle which destroyed the White House. As of now, President Nathan Petrelli makes his home with his wife and sons in the recently rebuilt New York City, where he has effectively set up the new center of American politics. Having replaced the very man who killed him and experienced many life-changing events even after his death and resurrection, it's understandable that his agenda as president has changed. Just how drastically Nathan is willing to change things remains to be seen.
